Born to Soar

Hello loves I miss you all so much! .I know it’s been a long time, so much has happened in my modeling career, really great things! I’ve been gracing runways on the east and west coast. Never once taking for granted the steps it took to get here. I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching within myself learning and understanding who I am.  I’ve recognized the driving force within me is me. I now understand that I attract positive and can attract negative circumstances. So its my goal to always have a high energy level for life in general, despite all hell breaking loose.  I believe we are born with predestination on our lives and everything you’re supposed to have you will attract it. Once I grasped that concept. I ran with it and it changed my mindset on my direction in life. So as we journey through life just remember your destiny was predetermined at birth walk in the path that was predestined in your life. I know that some will say i had a lot of horrible things happen to me or a lot of doors have been shut or you may have been rejected. My response is all things work together for the good. So let the negative go and do what we have been born to do which is soar.  Please check out my new. Website at www.lareenalarue.com Thank you for continuing to support me and all I do. Rogues Gallery Featured Designer...

I would like to introduce to some and announce to others Mr. Ada J. Perry of New York. This designer totally drew a lot of buzz and had the most exquisite grafted leather. I had an opportunity to get up close and personal with Mr. Perry and here is just a snippet of what he shared.

LL: How did you get started sewing?

AJP:I started sewing when I challenged my mother to teach me after I payed to much for these draw string pants , at age 15. My mother taught me to sew. I wanted to learn more so I started making shirts and jackets, it grew into a love.

I personally respect the versatility of his line, it speaks to the soul. The clothes had a neosoul/ Brooklyn flair. I look forward to seeing Ada J Perry on a National spectrum of fashion.

He was such a pleasure interviewing he was very proud of his designs but at the same time very humble!

Fashion Week

I just got back from New York fashion Week I attended the Rogues Gallery Presents 2011 Designer: Willie Hall Model: Jeanette Cooke-Dabney By: Europe photography llc.

Willie Hall opened the show with breath taking feminine style. The models were so elegant and graceful .The color of her collection was black moth and pink. This collection was inspired by Valentine ’s Day. Willie is blowing up in the fashion world. Her very classy style of fashion made a sophisticated but sexy, bold impact on the runway of New York City. I had a chance to meet with some really inspiring designers. Inspiration was definitely the look the weekend. And you know NYC is the city that never sleeps, after the awe inspiring show, it was only right to end the evening out on the town! I had a fabulous time at the star studded after party in lower Manhattan.

Tomorrow is not promised

It feels like it’s been a life time. Well since I last blogged I have experienced a shocking loss of my first cousin. His name was Aaron Woodard he was only 33 yrs old. He had just gotten married and fell short of breath, he unexpectedly died. We will never know the day or the hour when our last day is going to be on this earth. My favorite quote is, " live life to the fullest because you never know it may be your last." I like to think life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you’re going to get or what is going to be given to you. Be mindful of that everyday Loves, tomorrow is not promised!

My thoughts and prayers are going out to the victims of Tucson, AZ. These families were affected deeply by tragedy; when a gun man came in and opened fire and took 6 lives and others remain in critical condition. I pray for a speedy recovery for Congresswoman Gabrielle Gifford. Along with the other victims who are suffering from a horrible act of violence, and grieving families affected by these tragedies. Whatever you're going through, go through it with dignity and honor and respect for yourself and other. There are many people, that were alive yesterday and gone today, who are unable to live life to the fullest. Be grateful for whatever type of life you have because it could have been you!

Mental thought:
So please remember loves tomorrow is not promised to anyone.

Much Love,

Your situation can turn around in the blinking of an eye .

I was looking on the internet and came across the story of Ted Williams. as you all know the guy Ted Williams. This was a phenomenal story about a man who fell on bad times and prayed an hour a day thing didn’t turn around right away .This one particular day he was on the highway with a sign stating that he was a golden talent of a radio personality and he is down on his luck. The man was taping his encounters with Ted . Since that encounter he has been on every morning show and night show .His over night success was founded on prayer .So if your going through something just know that God hears our prayers and answers them on his time.

The lesson to be learned is in the blinking of an eye you whole situation can be turned around in the blinking of an eye .

Just cause your alive does not mean you have lived.

Being the best me that I can be

Hello Loves

Happy New Year Everyone! I sure hope everyone has started off this New Year on a good foot. If you're reading this blog than I take it you have! Being the best me that I can be is the title I chose for this blog. I was inspired by a woman who gave an awesome spoken word about this topic. Just to sum it all up in this blog, she spoke about being yourself and being proud of how God created us. Our identity is so important to God. I have one question Loves, if we are so uniquely design with explicit flavor and charisma . Why are we so worried about the next person when we have not figured out ourselves? Some of us have such low self esteem we don’t know how to start revealing the power within ourselves. I have a small exercise for everybody. I want you to look in the mirror and say I love myself and I'm beautiful, fearfully and wonderfully made and repeat three times. What this does is it speaks positivity into your spirit and into the atmosphere. After awhile you will start beveling it and then you will become the words you are speaking …
Word of Wisdom :
There will never be another You in this world, You are the best You that this world as ever seen. So take good care of You.

So tune in tomorrow and let me know how the experiment is going ….

It's a new day!

Hello Loves ,

It's the last day of 2010. It's time to coast into the new year .Well I made up my mind I’m going to church tonight cause big things are going down for me this year.
Sometimes we do not know exactly how and what is going to happen. Stay positive and stay in tune to your inner voice for your next direction to your destiny. Loves, I'm so excited because I look back over my life and thanking God, I’ve been through so much and I’m still able to function and communicate positive feedback on behalf of my personal trials and tribulations. So as the grown woman I am, I'm going to give you all six strong phrases of wisdom for 2011:

1. Put God first and love yourself and true love will follow.
2. Let go of all drama it only kills your soul.
3. Stay humble and blessing will over take you.
4. Believe in yourself and what you do, with out fear or doubt
5. I charge all to be whatever you want to be, there is no limit to what God can do in your life
6. Please do not focus on the three nouns; people, places and things. Stay on the path of your destiny and dream and hopefully I see you all at the top,

Be safe loves tune in tomorrow for more conversational blogging smooches.

Turning rejection and failure into a road to success

Hello Loves ,

How is everyone’s holiday season going? Mine has been going wonderful
Well the name of today’s blog is turning your rejections /failures into a road of success. Yesterday I went to my daughters track meet in NYC and it was not a good meet for her. She was a little upset with the outcome and she felt a strong sense of failure. So I looked her square in the eye and said your not going to win every race and the race is not given to the swifts and the fastest its given to the one who endures to the end. I gave here the example of Wilma Rudolph she lost every race until she got into the high school years. Wilma Rudolph's life is a story of achieving against the odds. Her first accomplishments were to stay alive and get well! In high school, she became a basketball star first, who set state records for scoring and led her team to a state championship. Then she became a track star, going to her first Olympic Games.
She won a bronze medal in the 4x4 relay.
On September 7th, 1960, in Rome, Wilma became the first American woman to win 3 gold medals in the Olympics. She won the 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash, and ran the anchor on the 400-meter relay team.

This achievement led her to become one of the most celebrated female athletes of all time. In addition, her celebrity caused gender barriers to be broken in previously all-male track and field events.

Loves we have to realize that it is going to take work to get to where we are going. It may be physical, mental, and spiritual. Just know the pay off is great if you just stick in there. Greatness is coming

Hello Loves ,

I wanted to wish everyone out there Happy Holidays. Today I purchased my computer for my daughter for Christmas. Believe me she has not been the model child but she is trying to turn it around .The lesson I learned mothering this child is loving people just the way they are. The act of loving people where they are is how I treat all I interact with. That’s title of this blog "Loving people the way they are." This can be a complicated act of kindness, but the key to the matter is we as human beings do not have the power to change anyone but ourselves. We can suggest advice. But it is up to the individual to make changes. We only have the power to make changes within our own heart.

Only God can change an individual. Sometimes its drastic and sometimes its subtle. Once I got a hold of that it changed my whole outlook on life. It really lifted a burden off my life. I realized in my heart that it was not my job to change messed up people/family members. Everyone is responsible for there own actions no matter how big or small or positive or negative it may be.

This is a mental note:

If you want to see change in someone else. Start with the man in the mirror. Once people start seeing your changes to their normal responses and reactions the situations and negative behaviors become reversed .

The Fabulous Run way show in Wilmington, Delaware

Hello Loves ,

How is everything going? I just came down from a total natural high of being in a lovely local fashion show in my home town, Wilmington, De. It was a total honor working with everyone involved in the show. The show went forward with some glitches ,but overall everything worked out in the end. All the designer's were fabulous! The accessories were to die for. The add accessories gave each model the look of high fashion. Each model graced the runway with complete class and honor.

The international scene was totally educational and visually organic for all who were present it took us to Pakistan, St .Thomas, Jamaica, Africa, Puerto Rico, Trinidad, and India. It was really beautiful.

But the designer who stole the evening was Brian of "tB7 collection of furs." The collection was so unique and colorful. The male suits were breathtaking, it was not just a runway fashion show it was an experience with a seasoned designer who knows how to put his signature on his work.

I’m totally looking forward to participating in many other runway shows in the Tri-State area. So be sure follow me on this blog so I will keep yall in the fashion loop.

Im going to watch a Christmas special tonight on BET maybe that will do the trick. I feel that everything is so commercialized. Hit me back with your suggestions, I really need help.

Get up and go get it!

Hello Loves ,

I was chatting with some highly successful models and they all were ever so honest and graceful. During the conversations I always ask them the question, How did you make it in the modeling industry? Nine times out of ten the individual had to go through a ladder process to eventually get to the there current location. There are some exception to the rule. In some cases some individuals are blessed who are just in the right place at the right time to start an enormous career. Which I’m believing for one day. In the mean time I’m climbing the ladder just like everyone else.

No matter how and where you get your start in whatever you do you must be a go getter. Loves it's a hard pill to swallow we must get off of our butt's and get what's ours. Your career is not coming to you on a silver platter. There are many modeling jobs and acting positions out there. We just have to go get it. So stop the excuse and procrastination and go get it.

Every designer and modeling agency executive I've talked to always state that they are look for new faces and that new beautiful face may be yours. So lets go and change this world one casting call after another. Remember everyone is in a different place in there career. So never compare your journey to another persons. You never know what they had to go through get in where they are.

Mental note: If you do not succeed dust your self off and try again. Remember stay humble and smile. When one door close a window will open.

It's getting close to December 18,2010 I’m going to be ripping the runway in a fashion show in Wilmington, Delaware. Come check me out all ticket info is on the flier that you can find on where's LaReena page. All proceeds are going to a wonderful cause which is benefiting the inner city youth in Wilmington, De.. Below you'll find some familiar faces, before and after photo's. These amazing women all had to climb the ladder. Nothing was handed to them, so keep fighting and keep climbing cause we are destined to get to the top. Meet ya there!!! Post your before and after photo's! I'd love to see!
