It's a new day!

Hello Loves ,

It's the last day of 2010. It's time to coast into the new year .Well I made up my mind I’m going to church tonight cause big things are going down for me this year.
Sometimes we do not know exactly how and what is going to happen. Stay positive and stay in tune to your inner voice for your next direction to your destiny. Loves, I'm so excited because I look back over my life and thanking God, I’ve been through so much and I’m still able to function and communicate positive feedback on behalf of my personal trials and tribulations. So as the grown woman I am, I'm going to give you all six strong phrases of wisdom for 2011:

1. Put God first and love yourself and true love will follow.
2. Let go of all drama it only kills your soul.
3. Stay humble and blessing will over take you.
4. Believe in yourself and what you do, with out fear or doubt
5. I charge all to be whatever you want to be, there is no limit to what God can do in your life
6. Please do not focus on the three nouns; people, places and things. Stay on the path of your destiny and dream and hopefully I see you all at the top,

Be safe loves tune in tomorrow for more conversational blogging smooches.

Turning rejection and failure into a road to success

Hello Loves ,

How is everyone’s holiday season going? Mine has been going wonderful
Well the name of today’s blog is turning your rejections /failures into a road of success. Yesterday I went to my daughters track meet in NYC and it was not a good meet for her. She was a little upset with the outcome and she felt a strong sense of failure. So I looked her square in the eye and said your not going to win every race and the race is not given to the swifts and the fastest its given to the one who endures to the end. I gave here the example of Wilma Rudolph she lost every race until she got into the high school years. Wilma Rudolph's life is a story of achieving against the odds. Her first accomplishments were to stay alive and get well! In high school, she became a basketball star first, who set state records for scoring and led her team to a state championship. Then she became a track star, going to her first Olympic Games.
She won a bronze medal in the 4x4 relay.
On September 7th, 1960, in Rome, Wilma became the first American woman to win 3 gold medals in the Olympics. She won the 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash, and ran the anchor on the 400-meter relay team.

This achievement led her to become one of the most celebrated female athletes of all time. In addition, her celebrity caused gender barriers to be broken in previously all-male track and field events.

Loves we have to realize that it is going to take work to get to where we are going. It may be physical, mental, and spiritual. Just know the pay off is great if you just stick in there. Greatness is coming

Hello Loves ,

I wanted to wish everyone out there Happy Holidays. Today I purchased my computer for my daughter for Christmas. Believe me she has not been the model child but she is trying to turn it around .The lesson I learned mothering this child is loving people just the way they are. The act of loving people where they are is how I treat all I interact with. That’s title of this blog "Loving people the way they are." This can be a complicated act of kindness, but the key to the matter is we as human beings do not have the power to change anyone but ourselves. We can suggest advice. But it is up to the individual to make changes. We only have the power to make changes within our own heart.

Only God can change an individual. Sometimes its drastic and sometimes its subtle. Once I got a hold of that it changed my whole outlook on life. It really lifted a burden off my life. I realized in my heart that it was not my job to change messed up people/family members. Everyone is responsible for there own actions no matter how big or small or positive or negative it may be.

This is a mental note:

If you want to see change in someone else. Start with the man in the mirror. Once people start seeing your changes to their normal responses and reactions the situations and negative behaviors become reversed .

The Fabulous Run way show in Wilmington, Delaware

Hello Loves ,

How is everything going? I just came down from a total natural high of being in a lovely local fashion show in my home town, Wilmington, De. It was a total honor working with everyone involved in the show. The show went forward with some glitches ,but overall everything worked out in the end. All the designer's were fabulous! The accessories were to die for. The add accessories gave each model the look of high fashion. Each model graced the runway with complete class and honor.

The international scene was totally educational and visually organic for all who were present it took us to Pakistan, St .Thomas, Jamaica, Africa, Puerto Rico, Trinidad, and India. It was really beautiful.

But the designer who stole the evening was Brian of "tB7 collection of furs." The collection was so unique and colorful. The male suits were breathtaking, it was not just a runway fashion show it was an experience with a seasoned designer who knows how to put his signature on his work.

I’m totally looking forward to participating in many other runway shows in the Tri-State area. So be sure follow me on this blog so I will keep yall in the fashion loop.

Get up and go get it!

Hello Loves ,

I was chatting with some highly successful models and they all were ever so honest and graceful. During the conversations I always ask them the question, How did you make it in the modeling industry? Nine times out of ten the individual had to go through a ladder process to eventually get to the there current location. There are some exception to the rule. In some cases some individuals are blessed who are just in the right place at the right time to start an enormous career. Which I’m believing for one day. In the mean time I’m climbing the ladder just like everyone else.

No matter how and where you get your start in whatever you do you must be a go getter. Loves it's a hard pill to swallow we must get off of our butt's and get what's ours. Your career is not coming to you on a silver platter. There are many modeling jobs and acting positions out there. We just have to go get it. So stop the excuse and procrastination and go get it.

Every designer and modeling agency executive I've talked to always state that they are look for new faces and that new beautiful face may be yours. So lets go and change this world one casting call after another. Remember everyone is in a different place in there career. So never compare your journey to another persons. You never know what they had to go through get in where they are.

Mental note: If you do not succeed dust your self off and try again. Remember stay humble and smile. When one door close a window will open.

It's getting close to December 18,2010 I’m going to be ripping the runway in a fashion show in Wilmington, Delaware. Come check me out all ticket info is on the flier that you can find on where's LaReena page. All proceeds are going to a wonderful cause which is benefiting the inner city youth in Wilmington, De.. Below you'll find some familiar faces, before and after photo's. These amazing women all had to climb the ladder. Nothing was handed to them, so keep fighting and keep climbing cause we are destined to get to the top. Meet ya there!!! Post your before and after photo's! I'd love to see!

Calling all models...

Hello Loves ,

Today’s topic is directed to all models. Lately I lave been interviewing a lot of designers and they've expressed their frustration of models not being prepared for runway and photo shoots. In addition, the low tolerance for tardiness. So no matter how glamorous you are you must be prepared and on time. So my question to the designers was, "What are the must have items for a photo shoot and a runway model ." The response was as follows:

1.Scarf ( to cover your face so your make up will not get on the garment)
2.Different color heals (not just black)
3.Panty liners
4.Strap less and regular bras
5. Robe
6. A personal makeup bag just in case the make up artist doesn’t show
7. Flat irons and hair clips just in case the hair dress doesn’t show
8.Different varieties of panties ie. thongs, bikini briefs etc...

The designers also stated that there is nothing like working with a well prepared model. It makes everything go much easier. So my personal suggestion to all models is to keep these items packed and ready to go . Designer's would be excited about re booking you again for another assignment.

Okay now the date is quickly approaching, December 18,2010, this Saturday I’m going to be ripping the runway in a fashion show in Wilmington, Delaware . Come check me out all ticket info is on the flier, that can be found on the Where's LaReena page. Loving me!

I'm back!!

Thanks for tuning in . It feels so good to be back in the social networking loop. My computer had a virus and now its gone. Now its time for us to get it going again. If you all don’t know out there I’m a single woman who is currently dating and believe me its a lot of interesting people out here. So that leads me to say that I’m working on me by loving and respecting myself. I learned that I cant love and respect anybody until I love and respect my self on a daily basis.

Now on this single journey I'm learning that people give off vibes about themselves that can be good and bad. The ways you can identify them is through general conversation/natural dialog, simple line of questions and body language. When engaging in general conversation a persons personality starts pouring out. Then pay close attention to a person eyes they can tell a story about the present our pass and the future. My grandmother always said that the eyes are the window to your soul.

We have to be ever so careful who we bring in your intimate circle cause there are a lot of people today who have lost there life from not being observant and not going with your gut feeling. So pay attention to signs and bad feelings you get when in the company of any one.

Mental Note: Yesterday was a gift, Today is a present and the Future belongs to God. So live everyday like it is your last. Sometimes we think that we are going in one direction and God turns it completely around and we are in a situation where we cant believe how blessed beyond our wildest imagination we are. Loves keep living life to the fullest No turning back keep looking forward.

Okay now December 18,2010 is this Saturday I’m going to be ripping the runway in a fashion show in Wilmington, Delaware . Come check me out all ticket info is on the flier on the LaReena LaRue page. All proceeds are going to a wonderful cause which is benefiting the inner city youth in Wilmington, De. Come out and show your support. Much love to everyone out there!

Being comfortable in your own skin.

Hello Loves ,

Thanks for tuning in today. The topic is being comfortable in your own skin. After rehearsing for my next show I realized that individuals are not comfortable with who they are. Its like everyone wants to mimic the next person. So that troubled me to the point where I looked up the word in Individualists- promotes to exercise one's goals and desires and so that ones independence and self-reliance can blossom, while opposing most external interference upon one's own interests, whether by society, family or any other group or institution.

While observing the situation I realize that people are not comfortable being there self. That is were self motivation steps in no matter how fabulous someone walks or looks to you. They're human too and we, as human's, have to realize that we are beautiful and wonderfully made. We all have our up's and our down days. But until we come into the realization of who you are and accepting your self flaws you wont be comfortable in your own skin. Believe in yourself and there is no limit to where you may go

Here is a mental nugget: when faced with a tough situation there is a soft inner voice that will lead and guide you to conquer every situation .

Please mark you calendars for December 18,2010 this plus size model is going to be ripping the runway in a fashion show in Wilmington, Delaware . I have tickets inbox me for further info. Walking a mile in someone else's shoes.

Hello Loves ,

Thanks for tuning in today. The hot topic is walking a mile in someone's shoes. Have you every seen someone act really bazaar and out of there mind. Or has anyone every been walking through your city asking for money or see a whole family that is homeless? At times I would think to my self how did they get in this situation. Then I though living in this economy this could be any one of us . No one is an exception to the rule. Fame and fortune can be here today and gone tomorrow.

After a lot of thought, prayer and mediation, I came to the conclusion that no parent says to there child I want you to be homeless or addicted to drugs when you grow up. Sometime life’s situations can bring people and there families underneath there lowest point. So the next time you see someone addicted to drugs or with severe mental health issues or even homeless. It was not there plan but may have been a bad decision or just life situations had lead them on that journey.

This is just food for your thoughts: Be careful the way you entertain strangers they may be angles.

Pushing through your haters!

Hello Loves ,

Thanks for tuning in today. The topic for today is staying focused on you your goals no matter what any one says. This week has been a rough week me. Well my computer has a virus and it hindering for doing certain things with in my job description . But I have made up in my mind that I am going to focus on my goals no matter what obstacle that come in my way. This is when perseverance should naturally kick in to go 100 miles and hour to achieve life goals.

In addition I went to NYC this weekend and I made the casting call for a fashion show in New York City. It seemed like everything that could happen happened on that day it was like a strong hindrance force ,but through it all I made it and was cast for the show in NYC.

My advice to everyone out there is, We all get rejection and let downs in life but what u need to do is hold your head up and stick your chest out smile and go on with the next project …Did yall here me? "Move on don’t stop making progress to accomplish your goals." You never know what the future may hold for you. Oprah ,Beyonce, Halle Berry and others press through until they achieved their goals and they did not stop. They are still bringing the ultimate best to the industry. So why shouldn’t we?

So as “Nas” would say: People Hate me now, But I wont stop now.

Hello Loves ,

Thanks for tuning in today. Toady’s topic is beauty. Has anyone out there ever seen a drop dead gorgeous person who had a very nasty, ugly personality or disposition? After the experience it makes you think that they aren’t as pretty as you thought they were. Or have you ever seen a really unattractive person with the sweetest, genuine, and loving deposition? Then you think, "wow this person is truly beautiful." Guess what Love? It's because beauty starts within.

Beauty on the inside will always prevail! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. No matter what we look like on the out side remember if you don't have a wonderful disposition the looks are worthless. I'd love to hear from you! List your stories and experiences, be an encouragement!

Forgiveness

Hello Loves ,

Thanks for tuning in today. I wanted to touch on a sensitive subject which is understanding forgiveness. You know I like to keep you informed and yes, I looked up the definition on Google. Forgiveness is to grant free pardon and to give up all claim on account of an offense or debt. Ladies and gentlemen this was a very hard thing for me to understand but I got it. Now I’m going to explain it to you. No one is perfect we've all wronged someone or have been wronged. It does no good to hold on to the account! Let it go! You free not just that person but yourself. You allow yourself to begin to heal the hurt.

So when I say “Forgiveness” people say, "why should I do that, I was the one who was violated or harmed, I didn’t break the relationship." My response is that it brings liberty to you and your soul. I know , I know, it sounds real crazy, but trust me Loves, it's a part of or journey in this thing called life. In order to move forward we have to stop looking back . Please believe me it works.

Think about the last time you were around someone that did something to you and the situation was not address. You don’t have to tell me your blood pressure didn't begin to rise. Before you knew it you were upset or even angry. These are negative emotions that can be avoided if you forgive and move on to the next chapter in your life . Even if they don’t receive it the weight is off you. Forgiveness is a process, much like anything else you are learning, its not automatic. It takes time but don't allow what happened to control you. Trust me I'm not saying not to acknowledge the wrong, but once you do, let it go!

I'm in NYC tonight loves! Check the "Where's LaReena" page for my next stop!

Letting go of the garbage!

Hello Loves ,

Thanks for tuning in today. I had to think long and hard on what the blog would be about today. The first thing that crossed my mind was getting rid of all garbage in our lives. So I look up the definition of garbage, it reads, the discarded food or waste or any other unwanted or useless material. Once again, in so many ways spoke to me! Because garbage can come in the form of people, places, things and situations that mean us no good. These very things are blocking our destiny and our future lifestyles.

Its time for us as individuals to take a good look at our lives and identify the trash. What is worth hanging on and what needs to tossed in the trash for good. I was at a conference once and I had a lot of issues going on and the woman told me to write down everything that was bothering me, Loves, I filled out three sheets of paper! The woman told me to ball the paper up and through them one by one. You know what I truly felt like something was lifted from my life.

Every time I thought about one of those issues, I spoke out loud to myself that it was over and it was in the trash. So I know everyone is going through something that is challenging so I encourage you all to practice this same exercise and be ye trash free!! I would love to hear all of your comments. Hit me back with your stories.

Don't forget you can catch me in NYC , tomorrow night and December 18th in Wilmington, DE. Check Where's LaReena page, link to the right , for details. Creating your own style

Hello Loves ,

I’m back! As I started my day today I was looking through some photos and magazines and thought to myself everyone is starting to look a lot alike. This really concerned me as a member in the fashion industry. The sights weren’t appealing to me at all. The topic for today is: Creating your own style and being comfortable in it.

The definition of style is how something is done or how it happens, a dignified manner, that is a characteristic of a particular person or group of people or period. There dignified manner. I was watching a tv show and they were doing flash backs of old photo's of a woman, the audience began to laugh at the woman's old photo's, her response really spoke to me, she said,"On that day I felt like I was on top of the Fashion World." That's exactly how we should feel! It may not look like much to you but fashion represents freedom, individuality and personality. Remember what is fashion to me may not be fashion to you. With that being said lets let out creative minds move so we can turn this fashion world up side down with our creative thoughts, designs and talents.

Mark your calendar's Loves! I will be in the NYC, supporting a charity event for Cancer Research. The event is December 3,2010. Also get prepared for December 18,2010, because this plus size model is going to be ripping the runway! I'll be Wilmington, Delaware . Being tasked orientated helps you focus on your life goals

I'm back again Loves ,

Have you ever had a million and one things to do and don't know the first place to start? Well, I've had one of them days which brought me to the topic of organization. My schedule can be very demanding and hectic, multiplying as we speak! I've learned a few tips that I find helpful in staying focused. Defeating procrastination is the first step. Procrastination is a mindset. If we change the way we think we can defeat it. The second tip would be to learn to prioritize, if that means write yourself a sticky note, a dry erase board, or a pocket calendar, use your resources to your advantage.

Google calendar is a great way for me to manage my schedule. I can schedule reminders, appointments, notes, and even a to-do list. The last tip would be to set small goals to achieve small successes. Just try it, you'll feel so much better when you look over your accomplishments and see you did at least complete the smaller things! Finally if we put these tips in motion we can get a lot accomplished! Let me hear some of your best practices!

My plans are to attend a charity event in New York City for Cancer Research On December 3,2010. Please mark you calendars for December 18,2010, this plus size model is going to be ripping the runway in a fashion show in Wilmington, Delaware. Come check me out! Hello Loves ,

Just watch the flames simmer down and suffocate. Now I want to here your story and comments about situations where you did not feed that fire and how what challenges you faced when trying to remain calm. What worked for you? Featured Designer...

Hello Loves,

Thanks for stopping through! Today we'll be revealing our favorite interior designer. So without further ado (drum roll please)...Mrs. Monique Ireland!

Mrs. Ireland is a fabulous Interior Fashion Designer. She began her career with designing her own home with curtains and reupholstering couches to add fabulous decorative colors. She received great feed back from family, friends and co workers, Mrs. Ireland decided to start her own business in interior designs. Through her journey she has taken many courses and seminars concerning interior designs. The courses have helped Mrs. Ireland take her business to another level. She is changing the face of interior design with her elegant style.

I had the grand opportunity in working with Mrs. Ireland on numerous interior projects within my home, the results were spectacular! She is very professional to work with and I respect her craft. One of Mrs. Ireland favorite sayings are, "Everything can work," and that's exactly what she did for my home.

I would recommend everyone to view her website at http://joyoflivingdesigns.com/index.html . These are my personal  pictures with her amazing transformation work. Join me in congratulating and supporting Mrs. Monique Ireland in being my interior designer of the week.

Thanks for tuning in today. The title for today’s blog is Loving people where they are . Yesterday was Thanksgiving and I was around a lot of family and as we all know we can not pick our family members and we cant divorce them either. So the other option is to love them where they are, regardless of what we think or feel about them. This may be hard but it make you a better person who can overcome anything. In hind sight they are still our family members and if the truth be told we can not change anyone. I want to here about your funny Thanksgiving stories and lesson learned from this holiday!

Thank you...

Thank you for being the beautiful full figured woman God created you to be! Thank you for continuing on your journey to fulfill your destiny, thank you for not quitting. Thank you for your constant guidance in the right direction. This industry can be so cold at times, I thank you for being a confidant and a true friend, someone that will tell me when it really don't look right and sometimes be the only one tell me when it looks good! I got love on my mind! How bout you?

Some people are in love , long to be in love. Some people have never experienced love. Okay where do u stand? I feel that Love is an action word and the action needs to be shown in the midst of every situation even through good times and bad times. So many are searching for love and to be loved they tend to confuse love with lust. Lust is like a dip in the bath tub, you know the bottom is there, subconsciously. When in love its like an ocean you can't feel the bottom, its as if it's not even there. Lust is constricted or limited, and Love is freedom and limitless! Choose true love over lust because the feeling of lust will leave you in a chilled tub of water with no towel! So as we approach this Thanksgiving holiday with our families and friends, I suggest that we do the three L’s which are Live, Laugh and Love one another and live everyday like its your last.
Who's choosing lust? Burrrr!!!

This is just food for thought : Live life to the fullest tomorrow is not promised to anyone

Tune in tomorrow for our lovely Thanksgiving Blog

The three C's of life: Choices, Chances, and Changes.
You must make a Choice to take a Chance, or your life will never Change.

The Thanksgiving Holiday

Hello Loves,
I’m truly excited about this up and coming holiday season!  Thanksgiving this year will be at my home and I’ve been preparing for the occasion, from the decor of the event down to the succulent Turkey and all the trimmings.   It's a lot of work, what a job!  I have family coming from out of town, I'll have a packed house. This year we'll be starting a new tradition, where every one is going to sign a decorative board and write the things they are most Thankful for. Can't wait to join in with friends and family on this joyous occasion. With all of the planning and preparing, let us all keep this day in perspective it's about being Thankful. So let's forget about our troubles, misfortunes, bad days, and any negativity we have going on, and focus on the things we Do have and the loved ones that are in our lives. Let's be thankful for our very lives and the air we breathe! I challenge each one of you , that if you don't have anything to be thankful for , to close your eyes and be silent, for maybe 1 minute. Now open your eye's, thank God just then for that moment because those moments of silence and reflection are given to us and not promised. Now send your feedback and comments about your holiday season. What are some of your family traditions? What’s on your mind?

This is Just a thought to grow on : Sometimes miracles and breakthroughs come on the most unexpected day.

Holla back!

Our Mishaps Become Our Strengths

Hello Loves ,

Has anyone out there been teased about a there body image or a certain situation? The topic of today is how your mishaps can turn into your biggest strengths. When I was younger I was brutally teased about my weight and my teeth which was such a horrible time in my life . At the time it seemed like my life was going to come an end. As I matured into a woman my face grew into my teeth and my body got very curvy then it felt like I just started really living. As I meditated it finally came to me that those same mishaps have become my biggest strengths. Those exact teasing lead me on the journey which I’m on today. Which is Plus size modeling. So hit me back with your  stories on your mishaps that became your strength. So with that being said I would like to dedicate this blog and song, to all the people who where bullied and lost there life or brutally attack by a bully,  Christina Agulilera your are beautiful!

Be ye prepared!

Hello Loves,

Thank you all for tuning back in to my blog . The topic for today is being prepared to receive your greatness. I found this quote on Facebook and it reads "Be not afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them." No matter how greatness falls in your path receive and move in it. Remember stay true to yourself and true greatness will follow. Always love yourself and the people will follow. Everyone have a blessed day and lets prepare for this up and coming work week.

Tune in tomorrow for some fashion highlights and events…

Featured Designer

Hello Loves,
I'd like to thank you for checking out my blog. Today we'll be revealing our favorite designer. So without further ado (drum roll please).....Ms. Willie Hall!

Ms. Willie is a fabulous Fashion Designer, some think she's just started her career as a Fashion Designer, but her career started in the 7th grade when she cut out her first pot holder and apron, but when she entered High School she wanted to be a nurse, but God had other plans for Miss Wille’s life, after going through a series of classes to determine her career, she ended up in the fashion design department.

As time went on Ms. Hall has had the pleasure of gracing many high fashion runways such as: New York Fashion Week, Project Runway, Issac Mizarhi show, Vera Wang, and LA Fashion Week just to name a few. If you don't know now you do, Willie Hall is one who you want to remember and never forget. I wanted to give you all a peek into her spectacular printed portfolio. She has worked with the following magazines: John Blassingame of Hype Hair magazine, Black Men/Women magazine, and many others.

I had the opportunity to work with Willie and let me be the first to say she stayed so humble gracious about all her accomplishments. Willie's favorite saying, " Designers are not made, they're born." I total agree with this, because you either got it or you don't! She is changing the face of design with her pieces. Her designs are fit for the runway and have the ability to be transformed into everyday wear.

Please join me in congratulating Ms. Wille Hall on her spectacular collections! Let's continue to support one another. I recommend everyone check out Willes collection on Facebook and Myspace. This year Wille is going to turn the fashion industry all the way up with her new designs and jewelry line. Check out the photos attached to this blog for a sample of Willie's work. Don’t forget to drop us a line or two in the comments section. Join me tomorrow on the blog .
Have a wonderful Saturday..

Holla at your girl!
